Bomb threat rocks Manila bldg anew

Employees of a building in Malate, Maynila scrambled for safety shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday after a company received a bomb threat from a telephone caller.

The caller identified himself as "Andrew" and said there was a bomb inside the Veritas Maritime Corporation on the 15th floor of the Marc 2000 Tower. The building sits at the corner of Taft Avenue and San Andres Street.

A bomb squad from the Manila Police District searched the office for the explosive device. The search turned out negative.

Company officials said this was the second time that a caller threatened to blow up the building. The first one was in April this year.

Building management blamed the bomb threat on some employees of Veritas who may be harboring a grudge against the company.
